Dave Matthews Band Caravan Atlantic City

The 20th year of the Dave Matthews Band was supposed to be a full year off of touring for the band but instead they came up with the great idea of 4 massive 3 day festivals with very diverse lineups in destination locations of Atlantic City, Chicago, New York City, and The Gorge.  Atlantic City being the closest and one that seemed the most fun as it is like Vegas on a beach we decided to go and what a great decision.  The city was on top of all the BS that can occur with a big festival, the location was beautiful, right on the water with the casinos as the backdrop, the food was out of this world for a festival as there were celebrity chefs making food all day, beers of the world, wine tasting, a farmer's market, and an eco village.  The most important to me was the free water.  The band gave out reusable water bottles and free britta filtered water all weekend.  Many cool bands were on the lineup but I was most excited to see the Flaming Lips as I was always told they put on the most exciting show live and didnt disappoint as they performed the Darkside of the Moon mixed with the Wizard of Oz, the Head and the Heart who I have blogged about before, and of course the Dave Matthews Band doing three sets which for the first time we would see the last notes they played in 2010 and the first in 2011!  The most anticipated for me though was the Dave and Tim show as I had never seen them play together and enjoy their music so much.  Other bands on the lineup were Ray Lamontagne, G-Love and the Special Sauce, Warren Haynes Band, Rebelution, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Delta Spirit, Theivary Corporation, David Ryan Harris, Jeff Coffin's Mutet, TR3, OAR, Damian Marley, Guster, Punch Brothers, Vusi Mahlasela, David Gray, Amos Lee, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Dawes, and Big Gigantic.  Despite losing money gambling, the weekend was perfect.  The weather was beautiful mid to upper 80's every day with a constant light breeze to keep things cool, the music was stellar, and the people, for Jersey, were not too bad.  Here are only the setlists in regard to DMB and some photos of the weekend.
